Commercial questions about Gas Sensors and Systems

Do you have an agent or representative in my country?
We have agents and representatives in every major industrial country. Please contact our Sales Office for information.

What is your delivery time for new instruments?
We supply a high proportion of gas analyser orders within four weeks. However, many of our gas detection, monitoring and sensing products can be obtained quicker if necessary.

How quickly can I get spare parts?
Generally spares orders will be despatched within two working days of receipt of order.

How quickly can I get my analyser repaired?
The majority of analysers are repaired within ten working days.

Can you send a Service Engineer to our site to calibrate or fix our analyser?
We can provide on-site calibration and servicing when necessary. However, our gas analysers are designed to be easily user calibrated. Also, because of their modular design, it is often easier and more cost-effective for the user to simply change out faulty or damaged parts themselves. We can normally diagnose the problem by e-mail or phone.

Where is the product manufactured?
All of Hitech's products are manufactured at our factory in Luton, Bedfordshire, UK.

Who else uses Hitech gas analysers?
Hitech supplies a very wide range of industries worldwide including, nuclear, power generation, petrochemical/chemical, automotive, pharmaceutical and food packaging industries. For a full listing please contact us and request a USERS LIST.

What is Hitech's history?
See our 'About' page.

Do you accept credit card payment?
We are happy to accept payment by Visa or MasterCard. For other payment options please contact our sales department.

Technical Info about Gas Monitoring and Measuring Equipment

What types of gas analysers can you supply?
Our 'Product Summary' gives an overview of our supply programme. We encourage you to contact us with any requirement you may have since we also specialise in custom built designs.

What information do you need before you can you give me a quotation for a gas analyzer?
It depends on the application. Our 'Application Questionnaire' is available on request or, alternatively, you can e-mail or telephone our technical team.

Do you supply custom built analysers in addition to your standard products?
We at Hitech pride ourselves in providing custom gas analyser solutions and a significant proportion of our supply falls into this category. No matter how unusual your requirements, our team of design engineers will look at all requests and provide possible solutions.

Do you supply sample conditioning systems?
Yes, we have designed and supplied a very large range of systems.

Are your hazardous area analysers ATEX certified?
Our hazardous area analysers are designed for the gas sensor to be mounted in a hazardous area and the electronics in a safe area; a zener barrier is used as an intrinsically safe interface between the two. The zener barriers are ATEX certified as are our katharometers. Galvanic cells are classified as simple apparatus within the meaning of Intrinsic Safety.

Electronics units can be supplied in Ex enclosures so that they too can be installed in a hazardous area and, in this case, the Ex enclosure is ATEX certified.

Can you supply gas monitors for the work-place where personnel may be at risk?
Our 310 series gas analyser is capable of monitoring a wide variety of gases for this duty including oxygen, flammable and toxic gases to ensure safe working environments. We can also offer visual and audio alarms as an option with these units.

Can your katharometer based gas analysers measure down to ppm levels?
Depending on the gas being measured, the minimum range for these analysers is 0.1% with a best resolution of 0.01% (100ppm).

What is the response speed of your analysers?
It depends very much on the analyser and the application. We make several particularly fast models - MAPtest for food packaging gas analysers, and very low-volume zirconia based oxygen gas analysers. Also, for samples containing flammable components, we have our unique dual sensor G250 oxygen analyser. Contact our Technical Team to discuss your particular requirement.

Do you have a gas analyser for atmospheres in food packs (MAP)?
We certainly do! Our MAPtest range of analysers has models for monitoring all types of gas flushing regimes.

What is the expected operating life for a galvanic oxygen cell?
Galvanic cells are batteries with a finite amount of 'fuel'. Their life is a function of the concentration of oxygen they are exposed to and the sample's condition. In their typical applications, 'N','H', and 'L' sensors last about 18 to 24 months and 'E' sensors 3 to 5 years.

What is the recommended shelf storage life for galvanic cells?
For a cell kept in its original packaging and in a cool place, shelf storage life, without shortening its ultimate service life, is 6 months. After this time the eventual operating lifetime of the cell will slowly start to diminish.

Do you supply multi-point gas analysers?
No; Hitech gas analysers are designed to be simple in use and operation and very cost effective. Multi sensor analysers require a sophistication of interpretation and control which we consider detracts from the simplicity of our analysers and we do not therefore manufacture units of this type. For multi point gas analysis, you must use a dedicated analyser for each point. This has the advantage that, should a unit fail, you will lose only one analysis point and not all of them.

Do you supply Test Certificates for your gas analysers?
As standard we supply a Certificate of Conformity. More detailed Test Certificates are available - please contact our Sales Department.

Are your test and calibration procedures traceable to NPL/NAMAS?
Not directly. During manufacture our analysers are calibrated using pure gases which are mixed using mass-flow valves, and/or certified gas mixtures supplied from specialist gas suppliers. We can supply a statement from our supplier of pure gases and gas mixtures to the effect that their methods of analysis and mixing are traceable to NPL/NAMAS standards.

Do you recommend and supply calibration gases?
We will be pleased to specify the required calibration gases for any of our analysers (the User Manual gives this information). We do not normally supply gases, but our Sales Office will be pleased to give advice on suppliers.
