Gas Monitors for Universities
November 2008
Gas monitors are an integral part of safety in many university, educational and multi-user laboratories. Hitech Instruments have just released a new product summary of gas analysers for this market.
The 310 series for workplace monitoring includes models for toxic and flammable gases. Amongst the toxic gases that can be measured are chlorine, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide and hydrogen chloride – gases which are commonly used and/or produced in chemistry labs. The F310 flammable gas monitor is calibrated as 0 – 100% LEL for methane as standard (others on request).
Laboratories that use liquid nitrogen are prime examples of where oxygen needs to be monitored for health and safety purposes. The G310 Oxygen Monitor gives users complete peace of mind. The instrument is mains operated so you will not be called out in the middle of night because a low battery has given a false alarm.
Food science laboratories know that Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) is crucial to food packaging. The Hitech range is designed to last, with regular service it will give many years operation unlike some small portable units.
Hydrogen is a process gas suited to measurement by katharometers (thermal conductivity sensors). Hitech specialise in this technology and supply instruments ready calibrated for ‘plug and play’ operation.
Hitech Instruments have been specialising in oxygen measurement and gas analysers for over 25 years and take great pride in the level of technical support they provide. An application questionnaire enables exact configuration to be specified with confidence.
